This artistic pendant is inspired by the triskelion, also known as the triskele. Made up of three adjoining spirals, this symbol has been spotted in ancient Sicilian and Greek art. It can also be seen on Mesolithic and Neolithic stone ruins in Ireland and is highly prevalent in celtic iconography. The exact original meaning of the symbol is not entirely known, though it is believed that it referred to cycles of progress and revolution. It has taken on a variety of interpretations since then, including the dynamic of Mind/Body/Soul and Past/Present/Future.
This sterling silver triskelion pendant measure 1.25 inches across and 1.75 inches long (bail included in measurements). Though inspired by European iconography, this piece is actually a combination of various cultures.
