This statue of Isis shows the ancient goddess holding an ankh and wearing an elaborate headdress. In Ancient Egypt Isis was worshipped in many regards, but some of her roles included being a protector of the dead and a goddess of children. Her name means "Throne" and she had important connections to the ruling pharaoh, who was often depicted as her child.
This statue is hand painted with brilliant gold and multicolor hues. Piece measures 9.5 inches high, 2 inches wide, and 3.5 inches deep. It was inspired by an original statue on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
