In Ancient Egypt Isis was the sister and wife of Osiris. She was worshipped in many regards, but some of her roles included being a protector of the dead and a goddess of children. Her name means "Throne" and she had important connections to the ruling pharaoh, who was often depicted as her child. Thus, she was also a goddess of kingship. This antique style sterling silver pendant depicts Isis with her wings outspread. Pendant measures 1 inch wide and 1.125 inches long (bail included in measurements). Made in Egypt.
