Also known as the Sleeping Lady, the Dreamer of Malta is a clay figure that was found on the floor of the Hypogeum of Ħal-Saflieni in Malta. The most spectacular monument in Malta, this labyrinthine underground sanctuary may have been the ceremonial center of the island encompassing more than 6,000 square meters in three levels. This catacomb-like structure seems to have been at once temple, tomb and healing center. The main hall leads into the oracle room where the statue was found. The figure is speculated to have been a mother goddess figure.
