This jewelry is created from tagua seeds. The process begins with harvesting tagua nut seeds from the trunks of Ecuadorean Ivory Palms, which are left to dry in the sun for 3 to 5 months before being transformed into jewelry by fair trade artisans. It is an eco-friendly material that requires little energy to process, and its commercialization promotes forest growth. Tagua is the new “green ivory” - biodegradable, renewable and sustainable. The sale of this jewelry helps to support and empower the artisans who make them by providing sustainable employment and economic growth.
Hand made by artisans using natural materials. Naturally occurring imperfections, such as minor cracks, may be present, adding to the unique beauty of each piece. The natural properties and composition of Tagua defines the individuality of every piece of jewelry. The image above may show slight differences to the actual item in color and texture.
